SAS Match |
---|
Well the highlight of the two day match against SAS was Bruce (I never win anything) Miles with a hole in one on the 17th at Hampton Court, well done Brucie..Now back to the match, we started with a practice day at Richings Park which was in good condition but a bit wet after a down pour just as we started, on the first day we played pairs at Hampton Court, which again was a bit dry in places but played well, BAGS came out winners 5 -2, this was followed by a meal and drinks at the Three Horseshoes Laleham, where Bruce brought everyone a drink!!.Day two we played the singles at Winter Hill, BAGS coming out best again with an excellent 12 - 1 win, probably our highest winning margin in a singles match, this gave an overall result of 17 - 3 in favour of BAGS.Well done to Manjit in organising yet another great match.Full results can be found on the website, |

North Hants Day Meeting |
Our first and hopefully not last visit to North Hants, unfortunately Justin Rose couldn't be there to welcome us but the staff were and gave us excellent service. After bacon rolls (very good) and coffee it was the golf, the course was excellent, greens to dream about, but stay out the heather!!, there were some excellent scores posted but the winner of the Weir trophy was Manjit Bains with 38 points, in second place Greg Lowe with 35 points and in third place this years captain Roger Woof with 34 points, the Scratch trophy was also won by Manjit with 23 points on count back.Following the golf we were served an excellent dinner followed by the presentation of prizes by Roger.Well done to Malcolm for selecting probably the best course that we have played on.Full results can be found on the website, |
Richings Park Roll Up & Medal |

Meon Valley day meeting |
Yet another successful two day meeting at Meon Valley, a new venue for the society, we also held the AGM which members were able to ask questions and put forward ideas for the future running of the society.
With glorious weather on both days some high scores were expected, on day one it was Dave Skiggs who managed to score 38 points whilst playing off a 8 handicap, in the evening it was a buffet dinner, which was very popular, followed by the AGM and then drinks. Day two started with an excellent breakfast, with some missing out as they didn’t listen to the announcement regarding serving times!!
With the tee times organised so that the leaders started last it meant that we did not know who would be the eventual winner, Surinder Bahra posted an excellent score of 35 points to win day two but the overall winner on countback was David Lynch who shot 34 points on both day to give a grand score of 68 points to win the Quads trophy, Dave Skiggs came second.
Well done to Malcolm for yet again organising an excellent two days.

Test Valley Day Meeting results |
A new course to start the 2025 golfing year, weather was dry but cold which meant the fairways and greens were hard, with a considerable amount of work going on around the course we played of a number of temporary tees, plus mats, but this did not stop a number of good scores being recorded. The winner of the Ian Foster trophy was Steve Blackwell with 38 points, in second place was Jeff Brister with 37 points and in third place was Stan Knollman with 36 points. The presentation of prizes was conducted by Roger Woof who was standing in for Steve Viney.Full results and photos can be found on the website. |
